Full-time hours 

37.5 hours per week, predominantly Monday to Friday 8.30 am – 5pm. 

Salary

£27,00.00 to be reviewed after 6 months


ABOUT BCA

Bierley Community Association is a well-established local charity that run’s from Bierley Community Centre in BD4. The charity’s aim is to help and provide support for the residents of Bierley and surrounding areas.


The centre runs several low-key events each week, these include Playgroup, Community Market, Opals Sessions, Breakfast Hub, Carer’s craft session, community library and access to free WIFI and computers.


The organisation facilitates sessions that are provided by professional organisation such as the NHS, St Vincent’s and Carer’s resource. We have several partnerships with neighbouring charities and CIC’s.


The successful candidate will work closely with the funding and accounts manager to ensure the centre is providing activities to support and meet the needs of the visitors that attend the centre.


The General Manager’s role involves taking overall responsibility for the management of the day to day running of the centre, answerable to charity manager and Board of Trustee’s.

Job Description

Liaise with BCA partners and establish new working partnerships.

Plan community events

Run weekly sessions.

Manage staff and Volunteers.

Assist Funding Manager with fundraising support.

Supporting the morale and conduct of volunteers.

Liaise with local community groups.

Attend meetings as a representative of the charity.

Maintaining the profile of the charity through the content of our website and other media

Maintaining risk assessments and policies

Arranging training for staff.


REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS

Experience of managing staff, or managing a team

Selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty, and flexibility

Computer technology literacy

Good independent judgement, able to work on their own initiative.

Able to manage projects, seeing them through from start to finish


An applicant with a good attitude and aptitude, but without all the experience, could be supported by the management as necessary in order to build the experience.
